Beautiful Jewel

I'm not sure she could get any more beautiful!
She is doing a lot of learning like tying to the fence.
First time under saddle.
Yes, she is only a yearling and no I will not ride her for 2 more years, however it is never too soon to desensitize them to the saddle.
As you can see Jewel handled the saddle the way she handles everything, "It ain't no big thang"! I couldn't love this little girl any more than I do.

Kissy

Such a good girl learning that the barrels are not scary.

Jewel & Lily

I put panels in the front yard so the girls could do some of the mowing for me. Jewel
Girls loving the lush grass.
This is a nice picture of Jewel's current color. She looks like a miny Shasta at this point,
bay roan.
Lily enjoying her breakfast looking up Mr. Bob on the deck.

Beautiful Ruby

Ruby is 21 this year and looking great. She has nearly shed out and is getting quite a grass belly on her. She is a beautiful old girl and I love her to pieces!!

Update on Kissy

Poor little Kissy is having such a hard time shedding out. Her belly was full of clumps of matted hair.
So we decided to give her a bath and brush her out until we got all of them off of her. Apparently she had never had a brush on her before and I'm sure never had a bath before. She was a little hesistant at first but did really well for the first time. She feels so much better now. She has been wormed and vaccinated and I think starting to feel like a real horse now. Of course, Jewel keeps her under her wing. Very sweet little girls.

Birds

The two birds (I think sparrows) were playin in the back yard in the bamboo. It was funny watching them. We have a couple sets of doves in the big tree. I haven't had any luck getting pictures of them yet.

Sam & Suzie & Kids

Sam out looking for food
Sam and Suzie live on a rock pile out in the small pasture. We did a little research and we discovered they are Yellow Bellied Marmotts. They are in the family of the Rock Chuck. We enjoy watching them play with no cares in the world.
