Midnight & Sky Playing in the Snow

Winter 2008
We have had dump after dump of snow in January. They say this is the biggest snow since 1969. The above picture is the a perfect example of tooooo much snow. The roofline on the shop is 12' tall. Gives you an idea about how much snow buildup we have.
Lady and Maggie have a circle they have run in the snow to get outside and get some exercise.
This is the icicles and snow hanging off the back of the house. UGH!
The windmill is 5' tall. I haven't driven in two weeks. I can't get the car out of the carport. We are driving the GMC 4 wheel drive or we wouldn't be able to leave at all.Posted by McKeown Meadows at Saturday, February 02, 2008 1 comments

Southwest Flight 485

Well, after a long weekend down at Amanda's house (getting ready for Gus' arrival) we were on Flight 485 that slid off the end of the runway. I could feel when we landed it just didn't feel like the other landings that I've been on. As we came to the end of the runway the pilot started making the sweeping left turn to the terminal. The plane just didn't make the turn. We slid off the end of the runway by about 10 feet. It was a rough skid but really not a big deal. The worse part of the whole thing was sitting on the plane for two hours until they bussed us back to the terminal. Well, it is a fun story to tell. :)Posted by McKeown Meadows at Thursday, January 31, 2008 0 comments

New Years
Amanda and Abi came for a short visit over New Years. We had a great time. It is never long enough but a few days is better than none. Above Abi is loving on Ernie. He looks like he is trying to get away but he wasn't. He loved Abi loving on him.
Abi on Tinkerbelle. It was coollllldddd but we had to go for a horsey ride. Harley hasn't had a very good year but Tinkerbelle is all better now. We had fun....Posted by McKeown Meadows at Sunday, January 06, 2008 0 comments

Summer Fun
We had a live in babysitter for Abi. Ernie would always keep an eye on her. He is such a good boy!
This year Abi could go right out the back door to the fenced backyard and feed the ponies carrots. This is something she did very often. Good thing they like carrots!
Half the fun of a hot summer afternoon is a popcicle. Abi loved the red ones but when they were gone any flavor would do.Posted by McKeown Meadows at Tuesday, August 28, 2007 0 comments
More Pictures
Abi loves her new pony Tinkerbelle....you did good Papa!
Abi loves to visit grandma's house. Everytime Abi comes for a visit we have a new pet. This time we had 3. Lady, Tinkerbelle and Abi's favorite, Frankie. Frankie loved Abi. She never scratched or ran away. She would just hang there while Abi packed her around....very cute!Posted by McKeown Meadows at Tuesday, August 28, 2007 0 comments

Update on Hannah
Well I'm sure Thursday, June 14th was one of Hannah's favorite days, as she got to ride Misty.
Misty is excellent with everyone! If she's teaching a 9 year old how to ride or barrel racing for me....she hits the right note for whomever is singing! :)
Of course, along with the fun stuff is the chores. Brushing a horse after riding is a chore but for a girl who has horse sweat running through her veins, its just plain fun. Stay tuned.....next go around is with the Arabians.....Posted by McKeown Meadows at Thursday, June 21, 2007 0 comments

Meet Hannah
This is Hannah (I hope I'm spelling her name correctly). Hannah will be coming out, once a week for now. I will be teaching Hannah about horses and what it takes to care for a horse. This week we walked the property, brushed Jake, cleaned Jake's hooves, picked ticks, fed Jake grain and made sure his water was full. I showed Hannah bridles, saddles, hackamores, halters and a lot of stuff she probably won't remember. I know this is the beginning of a beautiful relationship.
Hannah and Logan on Harley.
Harley is such a good boy. He doesn't care what you do with him. :) Posted by McKeown Meadows at Saturday, May 12, 2007 3 comments
